Documentation centre

The Documentation Centre of the Wool has hidden treasures on the glorious past of our wool town. Everyone can find what he or she is looking for: students seeking academic literature, university wishing to carry out a detailed or simple study, or curious people who are passionate for our local history.

To answer your many questions, the Documentation Centre of the Wool offers more than 3,000 books dealing with social, economic and technical textiles.

It possesses, amongst others, the archives of the High Textile School in Verviers, the Employers Federation of Textile, 17 old textile companies, among which you find Dethier Fund and its documents from the 17th century.

An important socio-economic component was developed in the Fund Dawant and Jacques René Wynants,  dealing with the strikes and the major changes of the working life in the 20th century and the causes of the decline of our textile industry.
